Electrical system collapsed at Easter Island

Electricity on Easter Island is provided by diesel generators.
The electrical system that supplies inhabitants of the town of Hanga Roa with electricity has today collapsed. Luz Zasso Paoa, director of the local electricity provider SASIPA, explains the situation:

This is due to overuse. The capacity of our generators have been reached. We ask the community for comprehension until spare parts are arriving hopefully by next Thursday.

Luz Zasso asks the community to use electricity sparingly for the coming week and a half, until these problems have been fixed.
