These terms apply to your use of easterisland.travel, the website of Easter Island Travel, a tour agency in Hanga Roa, Rapa Nui (Easter Island), Chile. By using the website, you accept them. When you book one of our tours, our tour terms also apply.
Information on this website
We write our travel information about places, activities, opening hours, park rules and entry requirements with care, but things change on the island and in the rules for visitors. Before you travel, check important details with the official sources, such as Ma'u Henua, which runs the national park, or the Chilean authorities for entry requirements. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on information on this website.
Your account
You sign in with your Google account to write reviews and to manage businesses. You are responsible for what is done with your account. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms. To delete your account, write to us through our contact form. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Reviews
Reviews help other travellers, so they have to be honest and fair. Your review must:
- be based on your own experience of the place, activity or business;
- be respectful, without offensive, discriminatory, threatening or illegal content;
- not include other people's personal data, advertising, spam or links;
- not be about your own business, your employer or a competitor.
You can write one review per place, activity or business, and edit or delete it at any time. You keep the rights to your review, but you allow us, free of charge, to publish it on the website, also translated into other languages, for as long as it is online. We may remove reviews that break these rules. Businesses may answer reviews about them publicly.
Business listings
Anyone with an account may add a hotel, restaurant or show on Rapa Nui to the website, free of charge. Only the business itself, or people it authorizes, may add or claim its listing and manage it; by doing so, you confirm that you are authorized. We are told about every new listing and claim, and we may remove a listing, or a person from a business's team, at any time — for example when a claim turns out to be false.
What you publish about a business must be accurate and lawful, and you must have the right to publish its photos. You keep the rights to your texts and photos, but you allow us, free of charge, to publish them on the website — photos resized, texts also translated into other languages — for as long as they are online. We may edit or remove content that breaks these terms.
Our own descriptions and summaries of businesses, and visitors' reviews, stay as they are: a business can add its own description beside ours and answer reviews publicly, but can't change or remove them. Replies to reviews follow the same rules as reviews, and the people who manage a business may not review it.
Bookings and other websites
Our tours are booked through the TourTask booking system on our tour pages, and our tour terms apply to them. Hotels and other services we link to, for example on Booking.com, are booked directly with those companies and under their terms; we are not a party to those bookings. We are not responsible for the content of other websites we link to.
Content and copyright
The texts, photos, logos and design of this website belong to Easter Island Travel or to their owners, who allow us to use them. Photos by others are credited next to them, under their licences. You may share links to our pages, but you may not copy our content to other websites or use it commercially without our permission.
Liability
We do our best to keep the website available and correct, but we provide it as it is, without guarantees. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for damage that results from using the website. This does not limit any rights that the law gives you and that cannot be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; if you use the website after a change, you accept the new terms.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of Chile. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
