Ice-cream at Easter Island

During hot summer days, eating ice-cream is a popular Easter Island activity. There are three places where ice-cream is sold:

  • Savory: Franchise of the ice-cream company Savory, owned by Nestlé. They sell only their own ice-cream, manufactured in Santiago, Chile. They're located in the middle of main street Atamu Tekena. They have the greatest selection and, according to most, the best ice-cream on Rapa Nui.
  • Mikafé: Nicely located by the ocean among the diving centers in the small harbor, this ice-cream stand sells their own locally made ice-cream only.
  • Pea: This restaurant just by the beach below the town center has a small ice-cream stand on the outside of the restaurant. Their ice-cream is locally made.
