Ana Kakenga
Locals nicknamed it the two-window cave
: a branching tube that ends in dramatic skylights over the coast. Roots drip through the ceiling; the floor can be slippery.
Use a headlamp, watch your head on low basalt, and never visit alone if you are unsure of the route. Some sections may be closed after heavy rain.

Nearby Ana Te Pora offers a wide hall in the same cave-rich shoreline.
Caves like this were used historically for shelter and storage; today they remind us how porous the border between “wild” landscape and domestic life could be on a small island.
