Ovahe
About 800 m east of Anakena, Ovahe is a narrower cove framed by tall cliffs. The sand often has a pinkish tone from crushed coral and shell.
Cliff shade cools the beach in the afternoon—lovely in summer, sometimes chilly in winter. Check swell; there is no lifeguard. Combine with Anakena on the same car or tour loop.
North-coast scenery: many visitors pair Anakena and Ovahe in one morning.

Ovahe feels more intimate than Anakena: fewer palms, more rock, and a sense of enclosure. It has long been a favourite for visitors who want a quieter swim after seeing Ahu Nau-Nau.
Archaeologically, the whole north coast belongs to a sacred landscape; treat rubbish, noise, and drones the same way you would at any national-park beach.
